Starting Jogging
I did manage to get out for a Sunday run. I started jogging very slowly so as not to strain any ligaments and did about 25 minutes of running. I aim to reach landmarks such as a river bridge. Also, there is a pedestrian crossing where, if I am lucky, the light is red and I am forced to have a short break
It was great to get out and get some fresh air and I felt good whilst running if not a little cold from the cold air (but it was sunny).
Today, I went for another run. Again, the air chill took me by surprise. But at least, it reduces the amount of sweat I produce. Sweat is a major problem for me in Summer when I am literally drenched after a run. It looks like someone threw a bucket of water over me.
A few years ago, I practised karate and used to leave puddles of sweat around the Dojo floor and my sparring mits used to stink. People hated swapping gloves with me.
I guess we all have our problems. At least my nose bleed problem seems to be mostly cured after over 40 years of nearly bleeding to death each time I developed a cold or picked my nose. p.s. if you get nose bleeds, ignore any advice you get from friends, family and doctors about pinching your nose, simply stuff cotton wool up it and wait a while before easing it out. It took me about 20 years to figure this trick out.
Back on topic…
Towards the turning point at the bridge in my run, I was getting fed up with the chilling wind so headed up the hill path. The same one in my video. This is a great detour to take since it is like a break from running but just as tough since it is such as steep hill.
So this added an extra 10 minutes or whatever to my run and gave me some more interesting things to see such as the bamboo forest and temples.
So when you are exercising and getting fed up, bored or cold, think about how to distract yourself and do it a bit differently. For example, if you are doing some mindless stepping or treadmill work in a gym, try and break the machine by cranking up the speed or incline etc. Disobey the guidelines on your workout plan etc.
