Quick Home Exercise Routine
Here’s what I do for home-based exercise outside of the bedroom:
I do 3 sets of the following:
- bicep curl with dumbbells – 15/12/10 reps each arm
- shoulder press with dumbbells – 15/12/10 reps
- press-ups – 10 reps (I should do a few more like 20/15/12)
- stomach crunches – 20 reps
Short rest between sets.
This takes very little time and does add muscle mass and help tone the body. I am very lazy with this and have gaps of several days between workouts.
This is not necessarily a bad thing. Tim Ferris advocates this and got some amazing results.
I don’t exercise my legs at home since I go out running. If I didn’t run, I would add squats to me workout routine.
As regards progress, I am now at 92 Kgs so I need to exercise harder and reduce calorie intake to get below 90Kgs. This will be harder to do in the Winter though since I can’t go running so easily.
What I may aim to do is more intense home workouts where my muscles are feeling really tired after the workout and will then spend days consuming calories as the build and recover. I just hope I don’t turn into the incredible hulk with this approach
Anyway, I hope you will push yourself to do some exercise so you don’t have to suffer cutting back too much on the food you like over the festive season.
