Not Losing Weight
Well I have been training for a few weeks now and was suprised to find that my weight has hardly changed \-)
I have been consuming about the same amount of food and drink yet I seem to have barely lost a kilo in weight. This at first seemed crazy since I must be burning a lot more energy than before.
Apparently though this is normal for people starting to exercise, since you gain muscle at the same time as burning fat. I know I have got stronger and fitter since I can run more easily and I feel stronger when weight training.
Visibly, I think my chest area looks better where I was developing “man breasts” and my shoulders are showing more definition. So rather than using the scales it is probably better to take measurements such as the waist size and thickness of fat.
Measuring fat thickness is difficult though without the right equipment but around my mid section I can take a measurement with a vernier caliper by pinching the skin. Also, under my arms is a measureable amount of flab.
I’m measuring 16mm thickness (pinched) between my stomach and hip.
And 13mm below the arm.
Let’s see what happens to these measurements in a months time
