Detox Yourself
One of the problems with modern life is that we tend to be sitting around a lot, munching on unhealthy snacks, and drinking beverages that contain all kinds of contaminants.
So today’s tip is to consume more water for your drink. The water is really what your body wants and filtered tap water is my recommendation (unless your water is always clear and then there should be no need to filter it). I recently did a blind-taste test comparison between tap water, filtered tap water and bottled water. The tap water won and the bottled water was the least favorite.
For this blind test, we put all three into identical bottles and put them in the fridge so they were all at exactly the same temperature. And we stuck a label on the underside of each bottle to record which type of water it contained.
Try it yourself with your friends and family. The results may surprise you, and you can save a ton of money by drinking water straight from the tap.
And in regard to exercise, I always preach to not sit around all day, it’s vital to put some activity into your every day life. One of my top tips for office workers is to never use the lift, always take the stairs and even make excuses to travel between floors to visit the rest room or whatever.
And always go outside the building at lunch times. This will help you de-stress and become more active.
Sitting at your desk all day long will give you all kinds of problems like mental stress, poor eye sight (because your eyes don’t get exercised by having to focus over a large range of distances).
You will be breathing recycled air all day (so your company saves money on air conditioning – try opening a window in your office if you don’t believe me).
Your back will ache because it is not being exercised by walking, you are likely to comfort eat etc.
So detox yourself by getting more active by pumping more blood around your body and getting more fresh air into your lungs.
Also, get more fruit inside you for all of the vitamins and detoxing qualities fruits bring to the table
But make sure your fruits are from a reliable source that didn’t spray them with pesticides. Better to wash them, peel the skin or buy in a packet.
For snacks, why not switch from chocolate, potato chips, and cookies etc. to fruit berries for example?
