Burning Calories with Activity
Yesterday I spent the day Skiing. It involved a lot of physical activity which was made harder by me being out of practice. At the end of the day I had plenty of muscle ache.
For lunch I noticed the menu in the cafeteria included all the calorie counts for the meals. Pizza was the worst with something like 2300 calories. I went for a low calorie option of a large sausage plus French fries. This added up about 750 calories which is still quite a lot. I don’t eat many French fries lately but I like to indulge occasionally. It is shocking how much the cooking oil adds to the calorie count though.
In the afternoon and a few more runs down the Ski slope, I was pleased to notice the onset of some hunger. So it looked like I may have burned up most of the evil fries.
In the evening I had roast potato with meat sauce plus salad, wine and some nuts. This morning I awoke to more feelings of hunger so it looked like this day of activity skiing was really good for burning the calories.
So if you are not feeling hungry between meals, try adding more activity to your daily routine. If you never feel hungry, you may be storing the excess energy from the food as fat and gradually adding to your weight.
